The Technological University of the Philippines Visayas (TUPV) proudly celebrates a momentous victory at the recently concluded ClusteRICE 2025 – Visayas Cluster, hosted at the Philippine Science High School – Eastern Visayas Campus in Palo, Leyte. As part of the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute’s (DOST-TAPI) Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits by Cluster (ClusteRICE), the event brought together innovators from across the Visayas to compete for a place at the 2026 National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE).
TUP Visayas emerged as the 2025 ClusteRICE Visayas Champion, earning multiple top distinctions that highlight the university’s excellence in research and innovation.
Among the outstanding awardees is Engr. Joseph Golingay and Joshua Miguel A. Golingay, who received the Unlad Award for Outstanding Utility Model. Additionally, the I-Count team—composed of Bennet Jillian B. Fabrigas, Allen Joy P. Parreño, John Oscar E. Sta. Ana, Ma. Mikkaella O. Rebadomia, John Keci Marasigan, and Paul Richard Villason—earned the Sibol Award for Outstanding Student Creative Research for College.
The team was mentored by their dedicated advisor, Mr. Mark Winston Gabutero, whose support and guidance played a key role in their success.
TUP Visayas extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the awardees and expresses its full support as they prepare to represent the Visayas Cluster at NICE 2026 in Manila.
